Fully Devoted

Introduction

 Fully Devoted is the teaching ministry of Steve Amburgey pastor of Calvary Chapel Amherst County. Steve teaches the Bible verse by verse applying its timeless principles to everyday life. The purpose of this program and Calvary Chapel Amherst County is to "equip people to be 'fully devoted' servants of Jesus Christ" modeling the ministry after the early church as seen in Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Steve is originally from Kentucky but has lived in Virginia for over 16 years so he now calls it home. He came to know Jesus when he was 17 years old at a summer camp in Kentucky. He felt the call to ministry during his freshmen year at college and has served the Lord in ministry for over 15 years. He holds degrees from Liberty University and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. His early years of ministry experience were in denominational churches, but the Lord led him to become a part of the Calvary Chapel movement. He was part of the original group that started Calvary Chapel of Amherst County in January 2000. His desire is to know Jesus and make Him known.

Steve has been married to Kathy for 18 years and they have three sons Tyler, Tanner, and Turner. Kathy is a tremendous help in the ministry and is also a registered nurse, a 4th grade teacher, and a basketball coach. Steve enjoys hanging out with family, coaching, and watching sports, especially football. He is an avid University of Kentucky basketball and football fan.
